a battle on the beach...

well...now that i'm back home in india...and mostly jobless...and bcoz i got myself a cool new pair of adidas shoes(!)...i decided to join my mom for a morning walk...
our house is next to the marina...chennai's 'most populous' beach (if that wer a valid distinction)...
this is where the tsunami killed over 500 ppl last year.. our house was saved though... scary init, living here?!
anyways.. as we were walking down the beach.. something surprised me... well, after the tsunami, ne1 would expect the ppl to be atleast a lil beach-phobic.. instead, we saw hundreds of ppl sleeping there!
jus imagine wot wud happen if a tsunami were to come! these ppl were readymade tsunami bait.. but then some may argue tht the summer heat is worse than the threat of a tsunami... esp for the ppl from the slums around this area... actually for jus bout ne1.. im sure sleeping on the beach on a summer nyt musbe atleast a lil better than sleeping in an aircon room at home..
the scene at the beach was actually quite interesting..twas bout 6am, n the sun was just rising... n there were all these seemingly lifeless bodies on the beach... n there wer crows flying above them in groups.. it somehow reminded me of some sort of post-battle scene from some movie... the crows were like the vultures waiting for the bodies to die.. so that they can go feast on them.. and wot made it more realistic was the strange silence - only broken by the occasional 'caw-cawing' of the crows..
i'm gonna take my cam with me tom... hope to get some good shots for my photoblog...
psycho.
